The Renaissance Program

Building Something Together

“It is a beautiful world, but we must try to make it even more beautiful.” — Giannozzo Manetti

This wonderfully illustrated publication documents the accomplishments and promise of the first Renaissance Program in Florence.

Based on the reflections of Dr. Stefano Baldassarri, director of the International Studies Institute in Florence, it provides a compelling overview of the event that established the Renaissance Program as an ongoing institution.

It also highlights some of the goals of the Renaissance Program, based on the ideas of Renaissance humanism: to create a more humane and beautiful world, to deepen education, and to provide a foundation for lifelong learning.

As Baldassarri notes, this is a never-ending work in progress, which we can work to create together.
