Costs and Key Dates
The total course fee is $1,000, which includes a welcome gift, morning lectures, museum tickets, a visit to the Medici Villa, course handouts, and a farewell dinner on Friday, November 17. The Symposium on November 18 is also part of the package if you choose to stay an extra day.
On Friday afternoon, you have the freedom to visit a site (or sites) of your choice, individually or in small groups. We’ll provide suggestions, but since it’s up to you, the Renaissance Program won’t cover your tickets for Friday afternoon activities.
You’ll be responsible for your hotel and food expenses, except for the farewell dinner, which is provided by the Renaissance Program.
A $500 deposit is required as soon as possible to secure your place in the course. It’s fully refundable up until July 31, 2023.
Even if you are not totally certain you can attend, it’s best to reserve a place now, since the course is limited to 20 people.
The remaining course balance is due on September 1. After September 1, tuition refunds will not be available. However, if the course is sold out and there’s a waiting list with someone willing to take your spot, you can receive a full refund, minus a 15% processing fee.In case of an emergency preventing your attendance, we’ll provide you with the welcome gift, video recordings of the lectures, and copies of the handouts.
Also, we will offer the course regardless of the number of attendees. In the unlikely event of cancellation, all participants will receive a full refund.

Terms, Conditions, and Safety Considerations
We will not visit any sites in Florence that are more than a 25-minute walk from our meeting space. While the afternoons involve a fair amount of walking, it shouldn’t be an issue if you’re in good health. Some museums have stairs; otherwise, central Florence is flat and walkable. There will be opportunities to sit and rest, but if you have difficulty walking, museum visits might be challenging.
After visiting the Medici Villa on Friday morning, we’ll have lunch at a nearby restaurant and engage in a discussion about how Renaissance ideas could enhance today’s world. Reaching the restaurant requires a short walk up a gentle hill. If this could pose a problem, please inform us in advance, and we’ll arrange a taxi.
Minor adjustments to the program may occur as we continuously strive to improve it.
Please ensure you have appropriate health and travel insurance for the course. By paying the course tuition, you acknowledge that you are participating in the program at your own risk, and the Renaissance Program will not be held liable for any medical, travel, hotel, or other issues you may encounter during your time in the course or in Florence.
Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and sociable atmosphere for all participants. Similarly, we ask that everyone attending contributes to the common good of our learning community. Anyone violating these basic principles may be asked to leave the course.
That’s All!
